    3. Hi All The museum has been busy recently as you can see from our blog entries at http://waterfordmuseum.blogspot.com *Waterford County Library* Waterford County Library Service has launched a facebook page for Local Studies at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dungarvan-Ireland/Waterford-County-Library-Local-Studies/108735692479501?ref=ts This would be a good way to keep track of any new databases for projects that the library might be launching that are of interest to historians or genealogists. * The Museum Is On Facebook* While you are at it become a fan of the museum's facebook page at www.facebook.com/waterfordcountymuseum *Waterford History Network* The museum has helped develop an initiative (with help from County Heritage Officer Bernadette Guest) that is going to try and link all of the local history groups operating in Waterford. Essentially we are starting up a mailing list, facebook pages and blogs so that participant groups will be aware of what other groups are up to. This will (hopefully) mean that we will share information between ourselves and the public in a more efficient manner. We also hope to have joint training days and a single Google Calendar for heritage events in Waterford County. Some cross promotion of events and sharing of exhibitions will also be an aim. At the moment participating groups are Portlaw Heritage Centre, Dolmen Historical Group (Butlerstown, Kilmeaden, Waterford City), Tallow Heritage Committee, Dunhill Education Centre, Gaultier Historical Society, Bunmhaon Heritage Society, Waterford County Museum and local historian Sean Murphy. We are aware we have left out one or two groups inadvertently. We will try and get these on board as quickly as we can. It will take some time before this group makes an impact but over time we hope that the network will help us improve all of our services to the the community. *Family History Records* The museum is going to set aside a filing cabinet to store photocopies of family history documents. For instance I have two gran-uncles in the Royal Navy and Royal Field Artillery, photocopies of their military records sourced from the National Archives will now be filed away in the museum. Other documents we would be interested in would include merchant navy records, IRA pension applications etc.. We would also be open to suggestions as to other document types we would store. They would need to relate to people of Co. Waterford origin. The advantage for the museum is that we would have great source material for future exhibitions. The advantage for donors is that the material would be archived in a safe place.
