    1. [WATERFORD] OTHO HAMILTON

    3. Janet wrote of her family and this morning I saw this must be an omen that research is going to be better this year HAMILTON Last Thursday died in Waterford in the 82nd year of his age Otho Hamilton Esq., Lieut Governor of Placentia in Newfoundland and formerly Major to the 40th Regt. of foot. He was the only surviving son of Thomas Hamilton of Olivestob near Endinburgh COrk Hibernian Chronicle Mon 12th Feb 1770 and as the name appears in the below 1821 census one would have to believe that such an unusual name must have been handed on So was John the son of Otho and Otho would be Otho Snr's. Grandson ? No doubt Janet can answer this for us ( or I hope so ) Cheers Cara > > No 32? 3. Hi Cara, Thanks for the reply.  My family names were Kinsella and Fitzgerald. Mary Anne (Fitzgerald) and John Kinsella were my grandparents.  My grandmother immigrated to St. Louis, MO.  She left her brothers and sisters: James John Margaret William Mary Richard Patrick If you could check on them when you have time, I would greatly appreciate it.  The family lived on Mayors Walk for many years - at #'s 25 & also 27 Mayors Walk. 1. [WATERFORD] Subject: Why not 'FREE Irish Times archives THIS WEEK'
    2. Maureen Shelly
    3. Shucks! With all the pre-Christmas prep I was carefully selecting only the most URGENT emails to read -- and saving the others for later -- like now. A subject line like IRISH TIMES ARCHIVES FREE THRU DEC.14 would surely have caught my eye and had me diving in immediately! A subject line like NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES (below) says to me it can wait til later! I write NOT to criticize ... but to encourage myself and all to be careful and thoughtful with our SUBJECT LINES and be sure to include at least a HINT (like the word FREE) of what is the REAL NEWS in your post. Happy holidays all! 3. After a troublesome year, I hope everyone finds a most joyous holiday season and a very happy 2010. Stay safe on the roads if you are driving. >From a somewhat snowy, sleety and very cold Tipperary, and an administrator filled with turkey and ham and Christmas pudding and triffle.... Janet

    1. Re: [WATERFORD] Roll Call: O'Brien/Kennedy/(Geary/Guiry/Shea
    2. Patrick There was a Coast Guard station in the Ardmore/Dysert area. It is in ruins now. There were two Guiry/Geary families in the area; John Guiry and Thomas Guiry. At this point, I don't know of a Catherine in the Thomas Guiry family (my g-g-g-grandfather); but I am having the Waterford Heritage Center research John Guiry, who I think is Thomas Guiry's brother. John Geary (Guiry) -----Original Message----- From: patrickmoss1@aol.com To: waterford@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, Dec 16, 2009 9:23 am Subject: [WATERFORD] Roll Call: O'Brien/Kennedy/(Geary/Guiry/Shea Researching Matthias O'Brien born 1870 clashmore area son of Thoams O'Brien and Catherine Guiry (No marriage found). 2. Hi - I don't recall any membership fee for Ellis Isl. lists - You can go in and look at the manifests after you enter your ancestor's name - All you have to do is register - Fitz
