    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Schoenberger ; Magart ; Deasy ; Fisk ; Hodnett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3BC.2ACE/812.811.814.1 Message Board Post: My great-grandmother Caroline Elizabeth (Schoenberger) Magart is buried in Moran Prairie Cemetary. Hers is the only Schoenberger name I have in my whole family tree. I'm researching this family tree myself. I just wanted to say that most of my family is buried in Moran Prairie, and not just a few. They are all of several surnames, so my guess is that it was typical for burials there. I wonder if George is somehow related to Caroline. I should be learning more once I go back to Spokane for Christmas so e-mail me if you have any information that you would like to exchange. Hopefully, I will come back with something.

    3. Bingo....we're related. Your great grandmother is the sister of my great-grandfather, Frank Schoenberger. In fact, his daughter Caroline Turner, my aunt, is named after your great-grandmother. It appeared she was a favorite among the family. I've done quite a bit of research of the family's patriarch, John William Schoenberger, starting when he entered into the country, roughly 1873. He met/married Elizabeth Ganner in Buffalo, a daughter of a pauper. First child John was born in Buffalo in 1876. Then the family moved with many other Buffalonians to Erie Township, near Fraley Minnesota....for the false promise of homesteading and building a better life. In Minnesota, George and Frank were born. Around May,1888, the family moved by railroad to Spokane, where they prospered in the lumber industry. Your great grandmother Caroline and her twin sister, Matilda (Gunther), were born 2/15/88 in Minnesota. Imagine a family, with 5 young children, 2 newborn twins, moving by railroad to Spokane. I have a letter from your aunt (?), Dorothy Lisenbee, regarding the estate of my great-grandfather, Frank W. Schoenberger. I've been to the cemetary you mentioned.....I have pictures of the gravestones. There is much to share.....I look forward to your correspondence. -Greg Schoenberg (er) ----- Original Message ----- From: <jadedewitt@hotmail.com> To: <WASPOKAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 07, 2002 1:03 AM Subject: [WASPOKANE] Re: Schoenberger > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Schoenberger ; Magart ; Deasy ; Fisk ; Hodnett > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3BC.2ACE/812.811.814.1 > > Message Board Post: > > My great-grandmother Caroline Elizabeth (Schoenberger) Magart is buried in Moran Prairie Cemetary.
