A gambler all his life, he knew when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. Realizing that this time the deck was stacked against him, he checked himself out of the Portland Hospital and came home to feel the sunshine on his face a few more times. Knowing that he would soon meet his maker, he looked forward to seeing those loved ones that had gone before him; his parents, Virginia and Bill; and his brother, Jim. Those he will leave behind are his son, Bill; daughter, Samantha; brothers, Tom and Dave; sister, Shirleen; nephews, Jim, Dave, Kenny and James; niece, Lindsay; grandniece Braelynn; brother-in-law Russ and sisters-in-law, Lori and Michelle; and a couple of ex’s from over the years. His absence will be felt by all. For all those that have enjoyed listening to one of Hooper’s tales,! he has planned his own Memorial Bar B Que at the cabin. Everyone who knows its location is invited. And anyone that stumbles on to it will be welcome to stay. Other than the Barbeque, there will be no other service.
