I have been searching for marriage records for my grandparents. I have found the Family Bible which states they were married in Spokane; 2 September 1919. I have written to the Spokane county auditor and all eastern Washington county auditors and cannot find a record of the marriage license. Was it possible in 1919 Spokane to marry without a license?
