Author: Cecilia_FabosBecker Surnames: WALKER Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.washington.counties.spokane/5536.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Ivy et al; I appreciate the referral to "family trees." Unfortunately if there is no citation of documentation behind them, they don't help much. This is why I wanted to start from an obit if possible. I've seen way too many erroneous family trees in the past. I'm trying to avoid creating or passing on another such tree. I have the information as to where he was living based on the 1920 census, which was listed as "Waverly Precinct." He's also buried in the Waverly Cemetery (with only the years of birth and death listed on the darned tombstone, apparently--but at least they were still readable so I have that much, thanks to a very nice transcriber), so I think it's pretty likely he died in that area. With the abysmal state of roads in this country until the 1930's WPA projects, we didn't make a habit of hauling bodies long distances for burials. ;-) I will follow up on the Norvel Walker-Jane Robertson tip to see if I can find any documentation behind the trees, but I'd still like an obit, if possible. Cecilia in San Jose, CA (the far end of the continent for research that inevitably needs to be done considerably farther east...)
