His wife was Mary A. (Cavanaugh) Schuer. She died in Springfield on Jan. 14, 1959. She was survived by their daughter, Mrs. Marian Margaret (Schuer) Lucas and their son, Edward C. Schuer. He lived in Dayton, Ohio. Marian (Schuer) Lucas died in Springfield on June 11, 1998. She was survived by four daughters: Sister Monica Ann of Spokane, Washington; Sara F. Lucas of Springfield; Mary Lucas of Albuquerque, New Mexico;(she was a nurse? she work on a hospital in Saudi Arabia?) and Monica (Lucas) Dunn of Springfield. Monica husband is William Dunn.
