Author: loradpeppers Surnames: Amidon, Butts, Leonard, Blass Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.washington.counties.spokane/5827/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for anyone researching these families. Lettisa A. Kellam Butts Amidon was the mother of four children: Anna, Adelaide, Frederick W. and Virginia, children of her first marriage to Simeon G. Butts. Simeon was murdered in Louisiana and Lettisa remaried, but never had any other kids. After the death of her third husband Alfred Amidon in 1898 (Branch Co. MI), she moved to Spokane, WA to live with daughter Virginia's family. She died November 28, 1917 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. Son Frederick Butts (b. Apr. 12, 1862)also moved to Spokane and married his first cousin, Fayette Shippy. They had no apparent children. Frederick died in Spokane October 16, 1930. I don't know where he is buried. Youngest daughter Virginia Butts (b. March 16, 1865) also lived in Spokane. She married Alfred B. Leonard. They had two sons: Lewis Yoder Leonard (July 25, 1887 - Nov. 1966) and Harold LaVerne Leonard (July 9, 1894 - March, 1980). Harold had two sons: Harold Boyd Leonard and David Kenneth Leonard. Virginia died of pneumonia in Spokane, April 14, 1897 and her husband later remarried. Alfred and his second wife are buried together in Greenwood Cemetery. I don't know where Virginia is buried. The other two daughters seemed to remain behind in Branch Co. MI. I have been unable to find anything on oldest daughter Anna, and Adelaide married William C. Blass. they had three children together. Any of this ring a bell? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
