He was both a fine physician and a fine individual. Our relationship was on a professional level, although I came to regard him as a friend as well. He and his wife, Rheva Reed Myhre, were insured with the company I worked for then, and I had occasion to handle a few claims for them. I recall in the late '60s or early '70s Dr. Myhre bought a new car. I am a bit fuzzy on the precise details; but if not on the very day he took delivery, then at least within a day or two afterward, the car was totaled in an accident. I seem to recall that a slow moving train was also involved. Thankfully Dr. Myhre was alone in the car and escaped unhurt. I don't recall the make of the car, but in a few days we had him back in another one just like it. Not long after that he had to quit driving for health reasons.
