She was born about 1906. Her mother was of the Blackfoot tribe out of Washington. She took the name of Sarah Jones. One of the largest Blackfoot tribes boarders Washington in Alberto Canada. It is very hard to find out information on this Indian tribe. She was very petite and only wore a size 3 in a shoe. Thelma married Jesse Cox from Whitley County, KY. She mothered 4 children with this man. Crit (wife was Bertha Woody), Dorothy, Arlene (Lena), and Jesse. Her husband was shot in about 1942 by Tom Runion (whom was convicted and served 10 years). Oddly enough, This widow later ran into Runion on the streets of Muncie, Indiana where they both landed latter in life. The meeting was not friendly. Thelma had a natural sister, Bertha whom committed suicide as a young woman. She had a step brother, Steely and a step sister from Anderson IN named Gladys. Her second husband was Elmer Dodson. He had several children. His twin sons Jimmy and Chester and their sister Delores was from KY. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He is Kasee's half brother. Re many marriages, maybe that is why Jr. married so many times, 5 that I know of & I am sure probably a couple more since then. He must be close to 70 by now, because he was about 7 years older than me & I am turning 63 this week ... yikes! It can be interesting doing these on-line searches. I worked this last year trying to find information about my cousin's real father. He is the son of my Aunt & was adopted by her parents (my grandparents) and NEVER knew that his "sister" was his mother until he was 30 and married. My local cousins did not know he was their "brother" and not an uncle until several years ago. I must say, one cannot find out as much as one used to ... because Social Security was wide open & other info was available on-line. Very limited now because of identity theft, I am sure. Luckily, I got and saved a lot of info on my family ... both sides. But now that I am older & have more time (I think) to do more searching, it is tight. Nice chatting with you, especially since that first post was quite old. Sandra Gibson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Stephen After years of volunteers indexing and scanning records it is still amazing to me how few people can find the Washington State Digital Archives http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/default.aspx Typing Carlile there brings up 155 marriages, 14 in Spokane County, 749 Deaths, 80 just in Washington, rest from SS Death Index. While a lot of people did wander to Idaho to get married so you still might not find everyone in the WA Dgital Archives. The actual Death Certificates are on film at the LDS Family History Library, and you can rent the film at your Family History Center. 1. [WASPOKAN] Information Request
    2. Stephen D. Carlile
    3. I finally found a couple of Carlile children (parents = Thomas Carlile & Matilda Wilkinson) who moved to Spokane County around 1900-1930. Alexander G. Carlile appears to have remained single all of his life, but may have died and been buried in Spokane. His sister Clarissa Carlile Harrison married David Riley Harrison, and I found her and her children in Spokane County at about the same time, 1900-1920. I did not find her in the 1930 census so don't know if she died or remarried. I also don't know if her daughter Bertha lived long enough to marry, but did find a couple of her children in or around Spokane County, such as Wilfred, Floyd, and Elsie (She married a Caspersen). I saw a name of someone named Jo who listed the surname Harrison on the Spokane website, but her email address (myspacebyjo@aol.com is no longer valid. I did not see any search program on the Spokane County Website and am wondering if anyone on this mailing lists has access to marriage, death, cemetery records, and, if so, would they be willing to look up this family? Thank you very much.
