October 28, 1918 November 17, 2009 Robert Eldred Jewell was born to Eldred and Elsie (Trembath) Jewell in Rossland, BC Canada on October 28, 1918 during the Spanish Flu epidemic and entered peacefully into rest at his home at Beacon House Spokane, Washington on November 17, 2009. Bob had dual citizenship and he served in H M Royal Canadian Navy during WWII as a Petty Officer Stoker on the ship Prince Henry. After the war he married the love of his life Catarina Maria (Katie) Orlandi in Canada. They moved to Spokane Washington in 1954 where they raised their five sons in the St Francis Xavier Parish and have enjoyed ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bob was employed by Sacred Heart Medical Center until 1995 as a Stationery Engineer. He was well known for his work ethic and devotion to his family. Bob is survived by his sons, Robert M Jewell, W Patrick Jewell of Kennewick, WA and his wife Sandra, Donald S Jewell, Timothy E Jewell of Mukilteo, WA and his wife Deb, Norman Thomas Jewell; loving friends, Janet and Dana also of Spokane; grandchildren, Lance, LaVonne, Erica, Jenny, Spencer, Casey, Rachel, Ona, Cole and Raina; great grandchildren, Kenneth, Kyler, Julia, Kayleigh, Kyndell, Kameron, and Brady; his nieces Pam Harvey, Jean McNeilly and Barb Potter. Bob is also lovingly remembered by his Canadian nieces, nephews and their extended families. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Katie in 2007, his daughter Donna Thomasina in 1949 and his younger brother William Irving in 2004. Many thanks to the staff and residents of Beacon House for the loving care of both Katie and Bob while they were there. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Bob's name. Vistation will be Monday, November 23 from 12 Noon to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, November 24 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. After I receive the obituary, I use whitepages.com, zabasearch.com or people411.com to find current contact info. When you post a query, be sure to mention that the Family Tree is one Ancestry. Your family tree provided more clues that saves time for a volunteer. I did find a Robert C. Jewell b. 21 July 1950, Last Residence=Spokane, Spokane Co. who died 30 May 2004. His soc. sec. # was assigned in WA in 1966. Source: Social Security Death INdex. He may or may not be your Robert. Successful Searching! Streets close anywhere from 4 pm to 7 pm (so it can be hard getting to alley parking - we have the parking lot behind the bookstore to use and if you feel brave there is the church parking.)   When ever they close the street I bring out the chalk... and the other goodies   food service starts at 7:00 pm...   parade starts at 7:45 and arrives at 8   parade closes with fireworks   If you want to come early... there is a craft and goody street fair at Asberry Field which is half a block from store...  If you come really early there is a children's parade.   And I do have really good goodies...   Please come Darilee bookstorelady@prodigy.net http://www.skagithistory.com - Skagit USGenWeb .......
