I'm searching for any information regarding Otto A. Horn and his descendants. Otto was born May 05, 1900, in WA. He first married Cora (?) bef 1921. Otto and Cora had a daughter named Jennie Belle Horn, born April 02, 1921. Jennie married Richard Wayne Giesa on July 31, 1942, in Spokane. Otto, secondly married Rose (?). Rose was born November 11, 1899, and died August 28, 1981, in Coupeville, WA. Otto and Rose are buried at the Riverside Mausoleum in Spokane. All of the above are deceased. I would appreciate any information on Cora, Otto, or Rose. Clarence Atkins Overland Park, Kansas

I am not from Spokane, and do very little research in that area... It has been a while since I indexed that book... I believe that one had addresses for the members and donors... you may want to contact someone in the Spokane Gen Society, or Spokane mailing list, and see if the address has changed since that time... you can use that address to maybe find them in the 1920 and the newly released 1930 censuses?? Sorry again, cant be of more help. Pat

We would like to invite you to re-visit our website, The POORHOUSE STORY (a clearinghouse for information about 19th century American poorhouses) at http://www.poorhousestory.com We just posted links to cemetery information (and in several cases, lists of burials) for poorhouses in Washington. These include cemeteries for the counties of WALLA WALLA and SPOKANE ... to add to the information already there for CLARK County. DIRECTIONS: At the homepage (link above) click on POORHOUSES BY STATE, then on WASHINGTON on the table of states. If you have been to the website recently you may have to click REFRESH or RELOAD on the browser to see the new information. Scroll down to the bottom where we have the CEMETERY section. There are other pages on the site which may give you some interesting perspective on poorhouses. They are off the homepage and include: the HISTORY page and the LETTER TO GENEALOGISTS as well as FEATURED ARTICLES. There are great tips for researching poorhouse records for yourself on the RECORDS page; and you might want to subscribe to our (almost) monthly newletter (which you can do in the lower right corner of the homepage). The information on our site will only grow through the submissions of generous readers. If you would like to e-mail me ... please do so off-list because I cannot maintain subscriptions to as many lists as we post messages on. (You can use an e-mail link off one of our web pages.) We hope you enjoy the site! Thanks, Linda Crannell (aka=The Poorhouse Lady)
