Neumiller had married a Thurza (last name unknown). This was his second marriage. His first was to a Katy Shaeffer, and had three children. Thurza was born Jan 31, 1891, and passed away on May 18, 1980. She was interred on May 24, 1980, at Fairmont cemetary, in Spokane, WA. They apparently had a daughter, Gayle A., who married a person named Trainor. I can give you more info on Uncle Jake as desired. Please let me know if I can help further at the email above.
I too have ancestors from this area. HALL , Robert Lee Hall and his brothers John Simon Hall and George Thomas Hall and their father, Thomas Hall along with some unnamed sisters all came west ca 1893 from Burke's Garden, Tazewell County, Virginia. I was able to locate the burial of their father. Some names these people were associated with were Weaver, Burns, Gannon, Keith. Some of the HALL children's names were Curtis, Clifford, Willine, Iva.A., Mamie, Lelia, Gertrude, Georgia, and Freeda. Hall, Thomas, b. Aug 06, 1822, d. Sep 28, 1900 Fix Ridge Cemetery is west of Juliaetta, Latah County, Idaho. Fix Ridge, Latah County, Idaho is within about 50 miles of the Nez Pierce Country, Clearwater River and Salmon and Snake Rivers and Pullman Washington. Would enjoy hearing from anyone with these surnames. Thank you, Ann
I have a lot of Hall relatives in Lincoln, Spokane, and Colville counties in WA. The family I have in the Latah area are Daileys, Kroghs, Ingrams, Hughes. ----- Original Message ----- From: <ASBJ56@aol.com> To: <WASPOKAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 18, 2002 2:40 PM Subject: Re: [WASPOKANE] Palouse City/Latah relative > I too have ancestors from this area. The Spokane library has copies of the 1883,1885,1887 and 1889 Whitman county census and the 1885 and 1887 Spokane County census. There is an index to the Spokane county 1887 census and one is being done for the 1889 Whitman county census. They are also available from Heritage Quest. Charles
My maiden name is Susan (Sue) Lindgren, I likewise grew up in Latah and know somewhat of the area, perhaps you could share which surnames you are seeking. I've been having a great deal of success with the 1880/1900 census for Latah and the adjacent towns/townships. --Susan Vargas ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon" <joy@gohighspeed.com> To: <WASPOKAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2002 6:33 AM Subject: Re: [WASPOKANE] Palouse City/Latah relative > I may be able to help you with your Latah relative. I have just discovered by viewing William Raymond Paul's birth certificate that Jess's middle name was not Raymond. It is listed only with the initial N. It states he was 34 at William's birth on Dec 15, 1957 which would make him born in 1923 in Missouri. William's Mother's name was indeed Norma J Thorpe, listed as being 24, so born in Sept of 1933 in Illinois. I know about the month of birth because she used to celebrate her birthday with us (on same day as my father and an extended family member) when William and I were still married. Does anyone know these folks and can give me some background family info on them?
I may be able to help you with your Latah relative. I grew up there and my dad has many old records concerning the area. Latah is a small town..about 250 people.....south of Spokane about 35 miles.
