Charles, can you answer a question for me? If a baby is born, but dies shortly after, is there a live birth certificate and a death certificate issued for the same day? I'm trying to locate these records for a baby born in Spokane in 1939 or 40. I'm not sure if the baby was named or not. Thanks for your time. Shelly Chance Galloway

Shelly Live births and then the child dies shortly after should be in the WA Death Index, most of the soundex codes have several unnamed children at the beginning of the list (before the letter A). I was told stillborn children are not supposed to be in the death Index, don't know if that is true or not. They have a large collection of early Spokane photos by several photographers so you can probably compare photos. Charles

I have some photos of his he shot of the Spokane Falls in the late 1880's that I would like to date as precisely as possible. This would require someone who knew what buildings and infrastructure were in place on what dates. Can you suggest someone in Spokane area who is really expert on the city's downtown area in the late 1880's?

Does anyone know of a Goldie Hornsby, born WV April 1, 1902, who is listed on the 1920 census in Spokane WA living as a servant in the home of Forest McDonald, a retail merchant. She is my great aunt. We think she married a Dalton and lived in Vancouver, BC. The family lost touch with her and we would love to know if she had a family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. She has two brothers and a sister still living. Thanks, Judy
