    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: FAIT Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3BC.2ACE/1836 Message Board Post: Eleanor Fait Eleanor Fait, died in Folsom Wednesday, Oct. 9 2002, at age 93. She was a native of Spokane, Wash. She was the first Sacramento woman to enlist in the service during World War II, and became a member of the first WAC class. Her first assignment was as an aide to Col. Overa Culp Hobby, head of the WAC, in Washington, D.C. She was stationed at Air Force Headquarters until 1945, when she was released by the military to the United Nations to work on the Disabled Persons Program in Frankfurt, Germany. Ms. Fait was responsible for placing many families of disabled persons in the United States after the war. She returned to Sacramento and worked in radio and television, producing the "Gene Nelson Show." In the 1950s, after working at the public information office at McClellan Air Force, she joined the Sacramento office of U.S. Employment Service. While there, she advised the Older Worker Program, which was adopted nationwide to provide opportunities in employment for workers over 45 years of age. She received widespread recognition for her accomplishments and after retiring in 1947 was appointed to the California Commission of Aging. She was later employed by her brother, Harrison H. Fait, who operated an adobe brick plant on Howe Avenue, delivering bricks to building sites. This was not an usually activity for a woman who, as a teenager, hitchhiked throughout the United States and later repeated the trip on a motorcycle. After retiring, she purchased a home in El Dorado Hills and became active in public affairs there and in Folsom. She was a longtime friend of Ruth Ward of El Dorado Hills and aunt of Glenn Fait of Folsom. Services are pending. Green Valley Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements. (Obituary from the "The Daily Democrat," Sunday, October 13, 2002, (Woodland, Yolo County, California). Submitted with the permission of the "The Daily Democrat," 711 Main St., Woodland, CA 95695. Please note: I am not related to the family listed above, and I do not have any further information on this family.)

Surnames: Robins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3BC.2ACE/1833 Message Board Post: Dear fellow genealogist in Spokane. I am looking for help to find the excat birth year of Miles R. Robins. I believe it is in Spokane between 1894 - 1896 both year included. In the 1920 census, Idaho, Kootenai, his age is 24, birth place Washington. In his obit from Feb 1943 he is stated as 47 years old. So I presume he is born around 1896. In his obit his mother is a Mrs. Charles Robins. I've found a possible match on the Internet and yet. My source with lacking source information has given me this: Miles Rufus Robins born 11 Feb 1894. Or Feb. 1895 WA according census 1900. Older brother Edward born in Spokane, April 1891. Sister Jessie born Sep /Oct 1892 also in WA. ( Parents Charles Robins and Susanna "Anna" "Annie" nee Grigsby married in 1890 in Latah county, Idaho) I would love to get some sort of confirmation that I have a likely match or not, so I would like to learn if there was a Miles Robins born in Spokane in Feb. 1894 or 1896? Can anyone help me what to do to obtain knowledge? best regards Helene Munch Copenhagen, Denmark
