LaVerne was the daughter L.J. Griffith and Sarah Smith. Guy Everett Griffith age 22 married Evadne Francis in Spokane Co. 31 July 1917. He was the son of Lorenzo Griffith and Sarah Smith. Both certificates are available on line at Washington State Archives. I did not search for a marriage certificate for Merle but per the 1930 census she married Bruno Cerenzia. Merle and Bruno are living with the widowed Sarah Griffith and her son by a previous marriage William Loveland. Guy Griffith died before 1930. His wife Evadne and two daughters are on the 1930 San Francisco census. One daughter's name was Corrine but I cannot read the other name. Evadne remarries a John Michael Hillen and they are both buried in San Francisco. If you do not have access to census and other info let me know and I can search for more info.

Many people passed through it's doors over the years and are buried there under the road I understand. Why? We don't know why anyone would plow a road through a graveyard, The farm had gardens and raised livestock if my information is correct. The person who directed you to Nona Hengen was correct, but the restaurant is call the Harvester. They have many of her paintings depicting early history of the area. Nona has written articles and books on the area and would be the one to accurately give you the facts. I've never heard it was a tuberculosis hospital. My own great great grandmother had tuberculosis and died somewhere around there in 1901. I heard the tuberculosis hospital then was at 8th and Park Road in Spokane.

The Fraas stone was carved wrong, but kept. They are buried there under the name of "Fross". I don't know where Emma is buried or any of her offspring. I only knew Hattie (Hedwig)Fraas (and that's how she spelled her last name. I talked to Laura Mills who kept the cemetery records and she said there were others buried in the Fross plot but that their names weren't written down. Not sure who all they were. Probably his wife, Albertine. Then there was a son named Otto who died at age 20. There was also at least one infant son who died at Spangle. Then add Emil Fraas and that makes five.
