JUDD 81 YEARS OLD, DIES ON MONDAY EVENING Was a Past President of the Snohomish County Bar Association SERVED IN CIVIL WAR; CAME TO CITY IN 1901 G.S. Judd, widely known Everett attorney, died at his home 3329 Oakes avenue, early Monday evening. He had been ill for several weeks. Attorney Judd was born in Massachusetts. In 1845 the family moved to Wisconsin. At the outbreak of the Civil war Mr. Judd joined the Union forces and participated in major campaigns with the rank of Lieutenant. Mr. Judd later moved to Kentucky, where he was married and established a law office. He had met Mrs. Judd while in the service. In 1901, after the death of his wife, Attorney Judd came to Everett and entered the practice of law. He tried his first case before P.K. Lewis in justice court. Mr. Judd became prominent in the legal affairs of Snohomish and Island counties and served the Snohomish County Bar association as president. Despite his advance age, Mr. Judd continued to visit his office each day until six months ago when he gave up his practice. He was a member of the First Christian church in the activities of which he ! was prominent for more than twenty years. He served for years on the church board, as Sunday school superintendent and as an elder. He led the choir for many years as a tenor and later led it with his violin. Mr. Judd led a life of service. In his younger days he tramped through the Olympics and was familiar with the many flowers, shrubs and birds of the Puget Sound district. Surviving is a daughter, Miss Jessie Judd; three nieces Mrs. J.A. Baker of 2928 Oakes, Mary Hulett, residing at the Judd residence in Everett, and Elizabeth Judd of Anacortes, and a nephew Charles Judd, living at Anacortes. Distant relatives reside in Everett. A brother Edwin Judd died at age 96 years old. Edwin Judd was one of the organizers of the republican party in Wisconsin during the days of Abraham Lincoln. The body of Mr. Judd is at a mortuary at Broadway and Wall. I find Gilbert Judd in Mason Co. KY in 1880 living with his wife Mary parents Samuel S.
