Jones, 80 years old, died Sunday at his home 5406 First Street, Lowell. He was a veteran of the Civil war serving as a private in Battery M, First Regiment of Michigan light artillery. Surviving are a brother, Frank Jones of Lowell, and three nieces, Mrs. C. J. Deman of Fortson, Mrs. H. O. Easton of Anacortes, and Flavia Jones of Lowell. Furneral services will be held fromt eh chapel of Chalacombe & Fickel, Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. R.D. Nicholls will officate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Silas H. Jones served in 1st MI light artillery Co. E. in the civil war as a private. He requested pension for that service from MI in 1890 and was receiving that pension at the time of his death 10/10/1926. He was living with his brother Frank in 1880 Emmet, MI. Also in 1920 census with Frank in Everett, Snohomish Co. WA. noted as single. Nothing reflects a marriage or family.
