Hi, I am new to the list. I am trying to find an long lost uncle. His name is John W. George. He was born in Gallia County, Ohio in 1854. The last that was heard from him was in 1881 in a letter to his mother. He wrote that he was leaving for Marysville, Washington. John was a schoolteacher by trade. After some I found him in the 1910 census, in Edgecomb Pct, Snohomish , Washington. I was not able to locate him in the 1900 or 1920 census. He was not married when he left Gallia County, Ohio, and in the 1910 census he is the head of house, but a single man. I can not tell from the form if he is single or widowed. His father was John D.
