Hello, List Persons! Two meetings this week that you may find to be interesting and/or useful - Sno-Isle Genealogical Society's April meeting will feature Chris Summitt talking about Puget Sound native people. Read about this meeting and other SIGS news (including a link to pictures of the SIGS field trip to Fiske Library) at the Beacon web page, http://rootsweb.com/~wasigs/05aprilbeacon.htm. Our own Dave Ault (yes, he IS a member of the Seattle Gen Society, but he's really OURS) sent me this news item - *********** On Saturday, April 9th at 10am Debbie and Jim Johnson, from Heritage Quest Research Library in Sumner, WA, will demonstrate a powerful new computer software program called "Family History CD." It can help you organize your photos and scanned documents and put then on a CD so you can share your information with anyone who has a PC computer. Topics will include: o Organizing your files o Creating a front page o Creating slide shows o Creating titles and captions o Attaching genealogy files o Using face labels o Burning to CD The face label option allows you to insert names of people in group photos which will appear when you drag the cursor across a person's face. This program can be used for family reunions, family vacations, weddings or any event you wish to share with others. A PowerPoint slide show will be used to show projects others have created and help get you started creating your own impressive presentations. Come and learn how to use this powerful new tool.
