Since Bob Witherspoon has given you info to find Machias, WA, I will "break-in" with an offer to try to find Info about Jack Capern OLSEN, or John Olsen. I have friends who know Machias, WA quite well, and who might be able to provide me with some tie, or a clue to Jack Olsen of Machias. I did check my copy of An Illustrated History of Skagit and Snohomish Counties, Pub. by Interstate Publishing Company 1906 and in the Section on Biog. Sketches, I found a Peter Olsen of Stanwood, WA on p. 997. On p. 997 Peter Olsen's Biog Sketch states that he is from Denmark, and in the last paragraph it states: In 1883 in New York, Mr. Olsen maried Miss Christiana Olsen, like himself a native of Denmark, the daughter of John Olsen. The year of her birth is 1856." Now, this may or may not be your John Olsen, or Jack C. Olsen. The next thing I can do is try to contact someone among the Machias clans who could provide me any info regarding the name you are interested in. I know that I can contact someone who has the Machias Historical Society info as I have attended a few of their picnics, and I know a lot of people who have their roots in Machias, WA.
