He came with his brother James W. Currie, now living n Seattle, in 1884, when the Satsop railroad started here. He was boom man do the Simpson ogging Co. until his eyes failed and he retired on pension. He leaves a widow, a son Edward, Tacoma, and Mrs. L.R. Wharton, and Mrs. G.E. Holt, Seattle, and Mrs. Paul Fredson, Shelton, daughters. 1900 Shelton, Mason Co. Census Hugh Currie 1/1848 Canada (other census says Nova Scotia) cames US 1869 boom man Anna 7/1854/ME had 4 children 4 living Marie 4/883/MI Grace 2/1885/WA Edward J. 3/1887/WA Freda 11/1892/WA Satsop Railroad Company - operated from 11/30/1883 until 2/18/1891 when it was purchased by the Washington & Southern Railway company.
