If there was a mine associated with the zinc company, it might be listed in the Snohomish County Auditor's Mining Claim Records, which run from 1871 through 1972. The early records (1871-1890) are self indexed, but there is an index on file for the later ones, according to the description of collections at the Washington State Archives Northwest Regional center. I know nothing about the Pioneer Home other than that it is printed on the 1910 plat map just between Rowan and Hazel on the way to Darrington. I got to thinking in the middle of the night that perhaps it could be the name of a hotel. I think I should try ancestry.com census records. I think I can put in 'key words' and see if anything comes up. In the meantime, just waiting for the State Archives to respond. Will let you know what they say.
