These obituaries can take you back for two more generations if this is the line you are researching. I am not researching this family. Bruner, 90, of Illinois City, Taken by Death Illinois City - Relatives here received word of the death of William H. Bruner, 90, at Neodesha, Kas., formerly of here. William H. Bruner, son of William and Nancy Car Bruner was born at the Bruner homestead, two and one hlf miles east of Illinois City, on Sept. 20, 1854. Since the death of his wife, five years ago he had made his home with a son, Floyd, in Fredonia, Kas. He married Ella Vickers, also of Illinois City, Oct. 21, 1879, and on Oct. 21, 1939, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Tonkawa, Okla. Mr. Bruner was the last of five children, Mary A. Tyler, Rose Kent, John S. Bruner, Margaret Moffit, preceded him in death. He leaves four children, Claude, of Lubbock, Tex., Floyd, of Fredonia, Kas., Zola Frost, of Oklahoma, Marjorie Maxwsll, of Phioadeophia; severaql grandchildren and great grandchildren and great grandchildren. A cousin, Miss Katheryn Washington resides in Muscatine. Funerqal services were conducted at Tonkawa, Okla. "Muscatine Journal", July 29, 1910 RECEIVES NEWS OF MOTHER'S ILLNESS John Fordham, of Park Place, received a message this morning from Marshalltown, conveying to him the sad intelligence that his mohter, Mrs. Abby Fordham, had receiveda paralytic stroke. It was not stated just when th stroke was suffered by Mrs. Fordham, but it is supposed by the relatives here that it occurred some time Friday. Mrs. Fordham has been staying at the old soldier's home in that city, and her many friends here will hope for her speedy recovery. Mr. Fordham left for Marshalltown this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock to be at her bedside as her condition is considered critical. "Muscatine Journal", May 2, 1914 FORMER RESIDENT OF ILLINOIS CITY DEAD LOCAL RELATIVES RECEIVE WORD OF DEATH J. F. Bruner Succumbed at Medford, Okla. - Remains Will Be Brought to Illinois City for Burial According to word received here by Mrs. Joh Fordman, of Bryant avenue, her uncle, J. F. Bruner, a former resident of Illinois City, passed away at his home at Medford, Okla. The demise was sudden as no word of his illness had been received by local relatives. Mr. Bruner was a resident of Illinois City until about fifteen years ago when he moved to Medford, Okla. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Ralph and Ross Bruner of Medford, Okla. and Carl Bruner, of Kansas City, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Kent of Grandview, Mrs. William Tyler of Illinois City, and Mrs. Margaret Moffett, of Pikeston county, Minn. One brother, William Bruner, of Medford, Okla., also survives. Three nieces of the deceased reside in this city. They are Mrs. John Fordham, Mrs. John McDaniel of Hershey avennue and Mrs. Guy Hopkins of East Sevent street. The remains will be brought to Illinois City for burial and will arrive here Monday. Interment will be made in the Illinois City cemetery. "Muscatine Journal", January 10, 1966 MRS. JOHN FORDHAM Mrs. John Fordham, 88, formerly of Muscatine, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of her granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Snyder, at 1124 Holmes, Bettendorf, where she had reside the past four years. The former Flora E. Kent, she was born at Grandview. She was married in 1901, at Muscatine, to John Fordham. Surviving are two sons, Harlan Fordham of Shawnee mission, Kan., and George Fordham of Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Hahn Miller of Bettendorf, and Mrs. Hildreth Fulton of Edmonds, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Don MacDaniel of Muscatine; 16 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and tree great grandchildren. The body is now at the McGinnis funeral home at Bettendorf, where friends may call after 7 this evening. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesdayat the funeral home with graveside rites at Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Emmett Barnes of the Lincoln Blvd. Baptist church will officiate. "Muscatine Journal", November 9, 1966 GEORGE H. FORDHAM George H. Fordham, 71, died at 10:23 p.m. Monday at the Veterans hospital, Iowa City. His home was at 2009 Lincoln Blvd. He was born Sept. 10, 1895, to John and Edna Kent Fordham, and had resided in this area most of his life. He belonged to the American Legion and W. W. I Veterans Barracks 2097. He is survuved by his wife, Mrs. Edna Fordham; three sons, Albert and Morris, both of Muscatine, and Raymond of Davenport; one brother Halan Fordham of Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. (Lois) Gerd Miller, Betterdorf, and Mrs. Hildreth Fulton, Washington; and ten grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in deaqth. Services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the George M. Whitich Funeral home. The Rev. Emmett Barnes will officiate.
