    2. Michelle: This is REALLY interesting! I had never even heard of a zinc plant... Fred Kruger may be your man again. Jordan would be within "his area." & also he is VERY knowledgeable about MAP(S) in general & specifically area map(S). The Granite Falls Historical Society Museum has a fantastic map computer program & a giant printer that can make unbelievable pics & maps etc. So they come out super & Fred is VERY VERY much into his maps. He just made 3 for me... Did you get an e-mail from him about maps & your mill ?'s? If not, let me know & I'll send you the info. he sent me about them. Now I have some questions... Shouldn't there be some kind of business "licenses" or listing of companies somewhere? Some kind of business incorporation papers that would need to be filed? Where would they be if there was? County? I've never done any "court house diving"; so I don't know what all kinds of things you could find there. Can you give me any more info on the pioneer home ? Names? etc. I can do some checking & ask some people. You are finding all sorts of fantastic tid bits about the area! Great work!!! ( & a lot of it...) 3. I goofed; it's called Washington Zinc Company. I did e-mail Fred K. last night but my e-mail bounced back to me, so I resent it directly to the Granite Falls Museum. You might want to contact the state archives on-line to ask about business licenses since they specialize in county and state records from way back when. I know that they have all the old Snohomish County records. I know nothing about the Pioneer Home other than that it is printed on the 1910 plat map just between Rowan and Hazel on the way to Darrington. I got to thinking in the middle of the night that perhaps it could be the name of a hotel. I think I should try ancestry.com census records. I think I can put in 'key words' and see if anything comes up. In the meantime, just waiting for the State Archives to respond. Will let you know what they say. 1. Re: [WASNOHOM] Zinc plant, etc.
    2. thanks. I'll ask around about the pioneer home. I didn't realize that that was it's name; I thought it was just a generalization. ( Leah > I goofed; it's called Washington Zinc Company.
