I know some things about the family if you are still looking for information. My grandfather was his brother. Early after immigrating and the family all coming together (They came in 2 groups) they lived for a time in Eveleth Minnesota and worked in the Iron mines. The family settled on a farm about 1 mile out of Kettle River, Minnesota near the intersection of Barnum Road and the main road that runs north out of Kettle River. They lived through the great fire of 1918. Their Home was destroyed by the raging Prairie fire. The fire was moving terribly fast and many people were burned up trying to get away, some burned in their houses and others burned in their cars while driving. Our family ran into the house and took out the wood burning cooking stove while bread was baking in it. They threw it on a truck and sped away just in time. The home was destroyed and they stayed at the Kalevala Lutheran C! hurch which is still standing however privately owned. The church is not too far away it was a miracle that it was was saved. Another note, the 1918 Flu epidemic patients stayed there as well that same year. Please let me know and I will gather my data and speak to you some more.
