I have the WA Birth Index on permanent loan at the Lake Stevens LDS Family History Center. This would tell you if they had any children prior to 1950 or 54 (can't recall when the index ends). The rest of the index is at the Tacoma Public Library's Northwest Room. You can contact them online and ask them to check for any children born to either of these men (both sets of indexes are under the father's name unless the mother was unmarried).
