Thank you Ivy, This backs up what I just realized---Morgan might be a boy. And you've helped me locate the family in North Dakota. Thad's obituary in 1952 didn't list any children, so I've been tracking them from Wisconsin and North Dakota to Washington. Now I will focus on North Dakota in 1910. Thanks again. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Ivy" <oyicroe@earthlink.net> Sent: Friday, December 04, 2009 8:20 PM To: <wasnohom@rootsweb.com> Subject: [WASNOHOM] Bryan in Snohomish County, WA > 1920 census WA Snohomish Co Everett dist 145 > > Bryan,T Thad hh m w 43 married WI MO WI longshoreman docks > > F Birdie wife f w 28 married Canada Canada Canada ironer laundry > > M. Have you searched for them on ancestry by using only their first names in Washington State? I've found all sorts of people this way. You can do this first name search on ancestry; it does not require a last name to do a search. With all due respect to Ron, the 1910 census did indeed include the addresses of properties in Everett, WA. I'm not sure offhand which precinct included 1932 Lombard , but it would indeed be there if we had a name. Without a name (likely on a postcard) the best bet would be to contact the Everett Public Library. They have extensive Polk directories and files organized by address for the purposes of property research, and perhaps even information on the occupants. The email address for their history room is: libnw@ci.everett.wa.us They are wonderful. You'll find many digital collections on their web site. Much of the housing stock in Everett has remained original as Everett was built late for the area, being founded in 1891 or so. The house still stands, and a photo can be seen by going to www.snoco.org , choosing property search, entering the address and then choosing "view structure data." Good luck. This home was established in 1907 under the name of Snohomish County Orphanage. In 1911 it was turned over to the Deaconess Home on trial, and from 1915 until 1926 they had full charge. In 1926 the institution was taken over by the Puget Sound Conference of the Methodist Church. It is a home of non-sectarian Christian character for homeless and dependent children. The home is governed by a board of twenty-one directors... Mrs. Bertha B. Emley, coming to Everett recently from Nanticoke, Pa., took charge as matron of the home October 1, 1926... The home performs noteworthy work in caring for homeless and dependent children of the city and county, and is supported by the residents of the city in a generous and cheerful manner. Through donations and a tag day drive, supporters of the home care for an average at present of nearly sixty needy kiddies. WASHINGTON GIRLS' HOME: This institution is located at 4220 Colby Avenue, Everett, and is organized for the purpose of rescue work among girls. It is operated under the auspices of the Pacific Protective Society, with state offices at Seattle. The Everett home was established eight years ago, and now cares for approximately 150 girls through the course of a year. It is maintained by private donations, a tag day drive, and some county aid. Some thirty doctors of the city and a large number of dentists give their services in the care of the girls who come to the home for attention and help. It is ably and courteously managed under the direction of Mrs. W. A. Rice as matron. PARKLAND LUTHERAN CHILDREN'S HOME: The Parkland Lutheran Children's Home, situated in the old Columbia College at Federal and 42nd streets, has been maintained in Everett since the fall of 1922, being moved to Everett from Parkland. The home was organized October 1, 1901 at the latter place; and is under the supervision and direction of the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America. It is governed by a board of directors, one member of which, Chris Wold, resides in Everett. The home now cares for an average of seventy homeless and dependent children at present and serves a large portion of the state. The manager of the institution is T. T. Enger, with Mrs. Anna Enger, his wife, acting as matron. A school is conducted in caring for the children, complete instruction being given from the first to fifth grades. Children between the ages of two and eighteen are admitted to the home. I have the WA Birth Index on permanent loan at the Lake Stevens LDS Family History Center. This would tell you if they had any children prior to 1950 or 54 (can't recall when the index ends). The rest of the index is at the Tacoma Public Library's Northwest Room. You can contact them online and ask them to check for any children born to either of these men (both sets of indexes are under the father's name unless the mother was unmarried). Hello, I took a look at www.digitalarchives.wa.gov and Verda Cook, married 7th May 1945 to Joseph Fulop, Jr. in Seattle. He was listed as being in the U. S. Army on the marriage license, so perhaps he shipped out. On Mar 02 1959 Verda Fulop married David E Binford in Whatcom County, WA (north of Seattle near the Canadian border). He was born about 1903 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and she was born abt 1908 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Can't find any death information on her (or him for that matter). The problem with this is the never divorced his first wife. I was attempting to locate anyone in the Snohomish area who might have known him or his "2nd" wife.
