    1. [WASNOHOM] CWVM LOGAN Sheldon Henry 1837/NY died 1915/WA
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: kzw2007 Surnames: Logan, Hagar, connell, Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.washington.counties.snohomish/5285/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Everett Daily Herald Friday 2/26/1915 Major Logan has gone and no more will Monroe people receive his kindly greeting on the street nor notice his aged figure on the corner talking of "the war" with others among the few remains honored members of the local G.A.R. Major H.S. Logan was a pronounced and sturdy character and had decided views on everything he was interested in that made his acquaintance always one of charm. He suffered long in his last illness but election time he always insisted on his right to be taken to the polls to vote for the good old Republican Party. Major Logan died at the home of his son Sunday at the age of 77. He served throughout the war in the 12th PA Cavalry and was appointed commissary Major by Gov. Curtiss in 1865. Two daughters, Mrs. Hagar, of Detroit, MI, who is now visiting here, and Mrs. Connell, of Erie, PA, and two sons John W. who lives in KY, and Edward F., resident of Monroe survive him. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Tuesday afternoon and the remains ! were honored by the attendance of the members of the G.A.R. Post No. 123 and the W.R.C. The honorary pall-bearers were chosen from among the G.A.R. and were Comrades Sanders, Altizer, Pattison, Johnson, Weimer, Peddycord and Marshall. The active bearers were Messrs. O. M. Hays, Ray Johnson, Wm. Dennison, Hunter, H.J. Keech and H.H. Bartels. Civil War Vet Sheldon Logan is burried at Monroe IOOF cemetery. 1. [WASNOHOM] Obits Project Updated
    2. M V REID
    3. Good morning, List Folks - Bill Blandin of the CamWood Genealogical Workshop has added another 200* obituaries to the online project index at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wasigs/camwoodintro.htm This brings the total number of individual obits to 9023. The CamWood Project holds obituaries from the Stanwood/Camano News, which serves not only Camano Island and Stanwood, but the extreme south-western part of Skagit County as well. The online index to the collection contains the expected Surname, Given Name and Death Date fields, but has been expanded to include a woman's birth name, the place of birth and date of birth if given in the obituary. Happiest of holidays to all of you! Marge Reid

I apologize, it was late when I wrote my response. I normally explain the use of wildcard. I searched for "Sib*" The asterik is a wild card for any letters following (If you are using Ancestry.com's search engine, it won't work with Heritage Quest or others). When I searched, I searched the entire county for ANY "Sib*", no last name, or any other criteria (age, etc). Had there been none, would have searched the entire state. I also "considered" looking through the census page by page looking for Lombard, but it was already almost 1:00a.m. Ron Bestrom Tacoma, WA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: rrbrown162 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.washington.counties.snohomish/5281.2.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you, Ron. This was very helpful! Your response prompted me look via just state, county, etc. I was able to look at the Snowhomish, Everett census going page-by-page through several wards & districts before I found 1932 Lombard Ave. The Britton family was living there in April 1910. However, I think your finding of Sibley Ross might be the person, based on his census responses. For my own learning purposes, would you be willing to tell me how you searched that census and only ended up with 5 persons? When I tried exact match on "Sib", I didn't get any results; without exact match, I got multiple pages of people all over the U.S. Comforting to know there is someone out there who really knows what they're doing and they're will to offer assistance! Thanks again. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Barbara_Ratcliff Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.washington.counties.snohomish/5281.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The household that was living at 1932 Lombard Avenue, Everett, Snohomish County, Washington in the 1910 Census was: Head: Claud V. Britton (Claud Van Earl Britton per his WWI registration) 22 years old (Feb. 28, 1884 " " ) Married 5 years/1st marriage Born in Arkansas/Father born in Ohio/Mother born in Michigan Shingle weaver in shingle mill Rented house Wife: Sadie F. Britton (Sadie Stuber per Washington Digital Archives) 20 years old Married 5 years/1st marriage 3 children born, 1 living Born in Iowa/Father born in Germany/Mother born in Norway Daughter: Hellen M. Britton 7/12 years old Born in Washington/Father born in Arkansas/Mother born in Iowa (Enumerated April 19, 1910: Ward 5, Page 6A, E.D. 284) The Britton family was renting, they could have moved elsewhere by August 1910. You could contact the Everett Public Library to see if a librarian would check the 1910 and 1911 Everett City Directories to see if the family was listed at the 1932 Lombard Avenue address and if so, especially in the 1911 City Directory, you could be pretty sure someone in the family, or a visitor, had the nickname of "Sib". I have a 1930-1931 Everett City Directory, and it doesn't have a cross reference for street addresses so I am sure the 1910 Directory would not. You could see if the Librarian would check out the "Sib" names in Ron Bestrom's Posting in the 1910 and 1911 Directories to see if any of those names, or other "Sib" names, are in the Directories at the 1932 Lombard Avenue address. Librarians are sometimes willing to do that if you email them. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
