    1. New to list, need lookup of an obit.
    2. bob_gottschalk
    3. Hi All, I am new to the list and need someone to hunt down an obit for a Benjamin O'Brien. He died in Everett . Lived in Snohomish. Date of Death was October 3, 1985. He appears in the Wa. Death index , there is some problem with the age on the info. It reads 604. Its either a code number or an error. He doesn't appear in the SSDI. So, the only way to check this guy out is through the obit. I am looking for some varification on him to see if he is a relative of mine. Thank you so much. 1. McLEES & WILLIAMS families in 1940s Everett, WA
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MCLEES, WILLIAMS, FRASER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VEC.2ACI/3745 Message Board Post: Looking for the McLees family (daughter Jean) and the Williams family who were friends with a British stoker on the HMS Warspite which was in being repaired at Bremerton probably in late 1841, and 1942, possibly as late as early 1943. The Stoker was named TOM FRASER whose nephew also named Tom Fraser in England has about 80 letters from his uncle sent home which speaks of a warm relationship with these two families. It appears that Jean McLees was the steady girl friend of Tom Fraser. The McLees address at that time was 3212 Nassau, Everett WA. Tom was killed on the HMS Redmill April 27, 1945 when his ship was torpedoed. Tom's nephew is now putting all his uncle's letters plus family history into a book and would like to make contact with some living members of the McLees and the Williams families who befriended this British navy man during World War II. His email address is [email protected] or you can contact me at [email protected] He is in England, I am in California. Tom and I share an interest in the crew of the WARSPITE. Betty Clifton

    1. FHC holdings catalogs
    2. Marge Reid
    3. Hello, List People! Area researchers can now peruse the holdings catalogs of both the Everett FHC AND the Shoreline FHC (formerly the Lynnwood FHC, but located in Mountlake Terrace) ONLINE, in the privacy of their own dwellings. Indeed, the Everett FHC catalog is now linked to the SnoIsle Genealogical Society's site, and I've just updated the catalog for Shoreline FHC. You can access the online catalogs at http://rootsweb.com/~wasigs/indexfhccat.htm I think this project will save folks time and money (gasoline IS a bit pricey!) by letting them know which area FHC has what resources as part of its permanent collection. Both catalogs are still being fine-tuned; should you find glitches in either, DO let me know ! Regards, Marge
