Good morning, List Folks! I may be reinventing the wheel (again), but I must let you know about a nifty website (nifty AND exciting if you have Norwegian ancestry!) The latest issue of RootsWeb Review tells about this web site.... Olaf Kringhaug, who was born in Norway 77 years ago, has taken on translating the "Nordmændene i Amerika" -- a 1907 book by Martin Ulvestad. The book tells of the early Norwegians who came to North America and where they settled. Kringhaug lives in British Columbia, Canada and has put this online because he wants everyone to be able to access it for free. The Washington State section of this translation is at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~maggiebakke/washington.html There's lots of information on Snohomish County, and even if you don't have Norwegian ancestry, you'll find the SnoCo section MOST interesting to read! Regards, Marge

Patrick died June 5 (2005-CC.) COMMENT: I peddled The Everett Daily Herald to the elder Patrick Family home next to Patrick Hardware, across the street from the old Carnegie Library. I grew up knowing that family over the many years. Bill Patrick's mother was the first librarian in Snohomish, a first female grad. at the U of WA in foreign languages. Despite their eccentric ways, and living, they were no dummies when it came to issues of the day, and arousing people to open their minds in many matters of the town of Snohomish. Terwilliger and his wife Florence. Arty was born in Utica MO in 1872 and left for Washington in the early 1900s and had very little contact with his family back in MO. From census records I know he was in Seattle in 1920 working as a driller in a shipyard (Arthur W. Terwilliger household, 1920 U.S. census, Precinct 271-- Seattle, King CO, Washington, SD 1, ED 334, sheet 2 B (penned), family 43, dwelling 45, National Archives microfilm T625_1931). Living with Arthur and Florence were her 72 year old father Phillipe Salter, brother Raymond Salter and nephew Norman Stanley. I then find them in 1930 in the Cedar Valley Precinct of Snohomish CO (Arthur Terwilliger household, 1930 U.S. census, Cedar Valley Precinct, Snohomish CO WA, SD 3, ED 1-, sheet 5B (penned), 76 B (stamped), dwelling 148, family 149, National Archives microfilm roll 2519). Arthur is a 52 year old poultry farmer and Florenc! e is a clerk in a general store. Her 80 year old father is living with them. Florence and Arty had been married about 1907 and they owned land. After going on to some wonderful websites concerning Snohomish County I am certainly not surprised he tried his hand at poultry farming. I am interested in finding out when they died and where they are buried (I have not found them in the online Washington Death Index), where their land was located and if they had children ( I do not believe they did). Any help or information will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Pam Eagleson Kennebunk Maine [email protected]
