He was a milkman, in Arlington I believe. I am still trying to find information on his death, so if anyone has any clues, I'd be so grateful to hear them!

    3. Seattle's KIRO-TV just reported that the Snohomish Co WA Sheriff's Office's "evidence people" had been looking for the original burial place of Maggie Lloyd "for a year", since finding the stone on an abandoned home lot in or near Lynnwood. Within hours of the TV report asking for the public's help they started receiving calls from genealogists telling them the name of the cemetery where the stone had been stolen from three decades ago. At the request of the cemetery's caretaker, the report did not identify the "small pioneer cemetery in King County". Newsfilm showed graves of Maggie's reported family members: parents James M. Lloyd (1860-1936) and Eliza Ann (1867-1944), sister Hannah E. (Lloyd) Allen, b 10 Apr 1885, d 16 Jan 19??, brother David John Lloyd, 1886-194? (1948?). ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 23, 2005 1:37 PM Subject: [WASNOHOM] LLOYD recent stolen tombstone > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VEC.2ACI/3834 > > Message Board Post: > > Sno Co Sheriff's Office seeking to find which cemetery a recently found > tombstone may have come from: > Maggie A. 2. I was interested in your request because I am going to be in North Bend in less than a week. My family there is interested in the history of North Bend. Its a relatively small town but there is a museum there. I ran a quick search on AOL white pages. They have 5 residents with the last name TANNER in all of WA. One is in Renton, which is very close to North Bend. Perhaps you can give them a call or write a letter. I won't post the names or address on the list. Are you posting your request to the Kings County list as well? North Bend is in King County. Bettye

    1. Roots & Love of Past-Man's Legacy:
    2. Carroll Clark
    3. For Reading and for the rootsweb ARCHIVES: Ref. The HERALD, Everett, WA. Date: Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005 Section: Local Section LIFE STORIES Site: http://www.heraldnet.com/about Article: Deep roots and love of past fueled Edmonds man's passions By JULIE MUHLSTEIN, Herald Writer. COMMENT: This article by Julie Muhlstein has a pix of Glenn Grace who passed away recently but whose legacy is well worth recording. When I (Carroll Clark) visited Edmonds in the late 1950s where I was to work, I was appaled by the condition of the cemetery - tall dry grass, tombstones awry everywhere - a disaster area. In later years I met Glenn Grace when Snohomish Cemetery (inside the city limits) was of controversy. Glenn Grace was not only a ham radio friend, but I came to know him as a very dedicated man to his community. I came to find that he and his family played a part in the restoration of Edmonds Memorial Cemetery. Dale Hoggins, current member of the board for the cemetery could attest. Read about the wonderful life that Glenn Grace experienced outside of Edmonds, WA but he returned to his ROOTS there and rallied to the need for CHANGE in the community of his boyhood. In addition to this article which is most befitting of this man, I had the pleasure of his friendship when he rallied support for the concern we had for Snohomish Cemetery (aka Pioneer Cem., Indian Cem. etc). located at 2nd St. and Cypress in Snohomish's eastern access. He took some of the first digital still camera PIX of various sites at the Cemetery grounds, both sides of the road that was constructed through a portion of that cemetery. In addition, I was to find that Glenn Grace was a very talented artist. He sent me via e-mail a color copy of o one of his paintings. I knew at the time that he was suffering from emphysema with related complications but I encouraged him to keep painting as I felt that it was a great boon toward his health. He was a very quiet small stature man, very mild mannered, but of Irish ancestry which could excite him at times which brought out his drive to fight for what he believed in. What a wonderful account of the legacy Glenn Grace has left us in this most appropriate article. I will miss Glenn Grace greatly but I have felt very privileged to have known him and shared in his friendship. Little did I know of him until I read this most worthy article. In "ham radio" language SK means the "end of a radio transmission" (used in the days of telegraphy). This term "SK" is also used when we refer to someone who has passed away. Thank God for likes of Glenn Grace, and his Irish Ancestry! SK ..._._ Carroll in Snohomish * * * 30 * * * -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
