HATLEY Ruth Davenport Hatley, 73, of Seattle, a former Skagit County resident, died May 30, 1982 at Shorewood Hospital following an extended illness. Graveside services were held June 3 at the Burlington Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Archie, of Seattle; two daughters, Betty Rogers of Lynnwood and Delores Peddle of Kirkland; two sons, Ronald of Seattle and Donald of Federal Way; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Houser of Blanchard, Lola Mahyr of Poulsbo and Ethel Heggen of Seattle; two brothers, William Davenport of Stanwood and Rev. Charles Davenport of Tacoma; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hatley was born Aug. 5, 1909 in Solitude, N.C., the daughter of James and Bessie Davenport. She came with her parents to Washington when she was two years old. She was a 1927 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Bellingham Normal School. She married Archie J. Hatley in Bellingham June 10, 1930. She taught elementary school in Belfast and Anacortes. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church and had attended the Duwamish United Presbyterian Church.
