Born May 17, 1887, in Ubly, Mich., she moved with her parents to Montana in 1895. She came to Skagit County in 1921 and married Bert Conn in 1924 in Mount Vernon. He died in 1939. Before moving to Seattle in 1940, she had resided in Edison and Mount Vernon. She had made her home in Denver since 1973. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Gustafson of Mount Vernon; a son, Richard Conn of Denver; four grandchildren, Ann Schwirian of Pacifica, Calif., Robert Gustafson of Chico, Calif., Thomas Gustafson of Mount Vernon and Rodger Fleek of Henderson, Nev.; 15 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Claire Abbott of Seattle; a sister-in-law, Bess Conn Rogers of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Fleek; four grand-daughters, Barbara Arford, Shirley Ensley, Karen Gustafson and Virginia Fleek; four sisters and three brothers. Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Puget Sound Chapter, 2328 Sixth Ave., Seattle, 98121 or a favorite charity.
