There is no DC Death Index after 1947 that is available to the public. The original death index books are, or used to be, available at DC Vital Records at 825 North Capital St. NE. They are in such bad condition that I have not tried to use them in recent years. The microfilms are more convenient. Other than the FHC, the DC Archives have copies of the microfilms. I don't know about the MLK Library. Jack
