Hi All, I really sympathize with all of you. Back in 1998 I had a very similar experience. After several months of going back and forth with the D.C. Vital Statistics, including receiving an answer of "no record" to something totally different from what I had requested, I finally sent a registered letter, returned receipt requested, c/o the supervisor. Within a few days I received a phone call from Mr. Bass, supervisor the public records at that time. I explained the run around I had gotten and he was not very happy about it, at least that's how he came across. He said he would take care of my request that day, and within a couple of days I had my grandmother's death certificate. Roberta
