Just heard on the local five o'clock Fox5 news that the fire was centered over the Peabody Room which houses historical documents and paintings. They rescued some of the collection, but there was speculation as to where the money would be found to pay for restoration. The announcer also mentioned that windows were being replaced at the time the fire started. Didn't say if there was any connection between the two. Remember back in 2002, someone was setting fires in the DC and across the line in PG County. They set fires on the porches and doors of homes so people would have trouble getting out. I moved to Minnesota in 03, did they ever catch them.
