Hi. First of all, sorry if you receive duplicates, but I wanted to send this to both DC lists. I have a very urgent request especially since the Dept. of health in DC is not being very helpful. My grandmothers cousin is very ill and has been in 2 sanitariums here in Wisconsin. Her will has been lost, as most of her personal papers. She is dying and we'd like to make funeral arrangements for her, but want to be sure we'd do the right thing. She is a Christian Scientist, and belongs to the order of the Eastern Star. Her parents are buried here in Wisconsin. She never married, had no children. We are her closest relative, but we never talked about arrangements. SO.. To make the story short, her sister, who she lived with most of her life, died while they were living in Washington, DC. I have her social security report saying her death place was Lynn House, Washington, DC. I wrote to the (Vital Statistics) Dept. of Health in DC for her Death Certificate, paid the $12.00 and received a "CERTIFICATE OF SEARCH" from them stating they have no evidence of her death. It is imperative that I find her death certificate to find her place of burial, if any. We don't know if she was cremated, or perhaps donated her body to science, and we'd like to know, knowing that both sisters would have made the same choices. A direct phone number to someone at the Dept. of Health (Not to a phone line answered by a machine), r If anyone can help me out, it would be wonderful. The information I need is for Verna or Verne Schult, born Oct 26, 1891 in Wis. Died January 15, 1985, at Lynn House Sanitarium, Washington, DC. If it helps, her sister's name is Veryl Schult. Any leads would be appreciated. Thank you so much, Sally Lauersdorf Hagen Waukesha, WI
