Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Mt. Olivet was vandalized by students from a nearby, respected university. So the vandalism in this case was not the result of gangs, drug users and dealers, or persons of a similar nature. I've lived in the Maryland suburbs of DC all my life, and like any large city, there are parts of DC you only travel to in daylight hours or with someone else. I've driven through most areas of DC at some time or other, and have had no problems with anyone--but I'm still very careful as I would be in New York, LA, Chicago, etc. Barbara
