List: I just discovered three ancestors who were born in Washington, DC and decided to ask this list for advice about obtaining more information. Specifically, I know that all three ancestors were born between 1933 and 1940. I also have the name of each ancestor along with the names of both parents. Here are my questions: Can I obtain birth certificates for the three? If so, which agency should I contact? What's the cost? Do I need any special forms or will a letter be sufficient? Do I need to furnish any proof of my identity (like a driver's license) or any proof of my relationship to the three people? Can I request a birth certificate that is only a simple copy (not embossed) for genealogical purposes? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Dick Felts Penfield, New York
