Where do I look for a death certificate for someone who died in Washington DC. I know the name but not when they passed away. And on the DC death certificates do they usually have the names of the parents.
Do you have the date of death? The ones from 1874 to 1932 can be obtained from the DC Archives if you have the exact date of death. More recent ones have to come from the Vital Records office. Unfortunately, the death certificates from the early 1900s do NOT have parents, spouse, or name of informant. They do have burial information, and I have found other family members in various cemeteries by this means.
