I've "rescued" an old photograph of Charles Byron FORD and Bessie Irene FORD which was taken at the J. D. Merritt Studio in Washington D.C. The photograph is dated 1889 and includes the inscription "With Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas". I'm guessing that Charles was in his 20's at the time and that Bessie was about 9 years old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to find this family in the 1880 census for Washington DC including Byon A. FORD age 37, born in NY, his occupation noted as Printer, his wife Elizabeth F. FORD age 36, also born in NY, and their son Charles B. FORD age 14, born in NY. This would suggest that Bessie was likely Charles little sister, and was born after this census report and that Charles B. was probably in his early 20's at the time and that Bessie was 9 years old or younger. I'm hoping to locate someone from this FORD Family, so that this wonderful old photograph could be returned to its rightful please with family.
