    3. If St. Elizabeth's was part of the D.C. or Federal Public Health System, you may find some info there. If the hospital is still in operation, perhaps they have an archivist who can help you. I worked for years at Springfield Hospital Center which which has been a long term care facility for the mentally ill in Carroll Co., MD for over 100 years. They have a historian well versed in the history of the hospital. Perhaps there is a similar person associated with St. E's. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marianne Ordway" <mordway@adelphia.net> To: <WashingtonDC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2002 11:45 PM Subject: [WashingtonDC'' ] Insane Asylum - St. Elizabeth's in DC You can go to NARA online and check out other info available to you about St. E's but here is some info that I have saved to use; Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital Records: 418.4.1 Records of the Medical Records Branch Textual Records: Records of cases, 1855-1941.
