Hi All, My George Seitz came to the US in June of 1837. He was born in Frankfurt Am Main (Hesse) and left from Hamburg on the ship "Hibah". He arrived in NY but stayed on the vessel to his final destination at the Port of Baltimore. I don't know who he lived with prior to his marriage in 1839 but believe it may have been a relative. I don't know of any of his siblings or parents names. He established a Bakery in 1841 in Washington DC and he and his wife Mary Elizabeth Plant (of Montogomery County) had many children. He was in the civil war and later died in 1904. He lived his complete life in DC. I continue to search for descendants and ancestors of this family.
