I went to a site where I found there could be a collection of the Foundry Methodist Church records, Asbury Library. I received some information that my family attended Foundry from about 1859 to the early 1900s. It appears the church name has changed and it is now predominately an African-American Church. Can anyone tell me about the Foundry Church and where the records of members are housed? Thank you. Connie
Connie, "Guide to the Records of Your District of Columbia Ancestors" by Eleanor M. V. Cook states: ".....Part I of Volume 15 of the Reports of the DC DAR GRC lists baptisms from 1818-1837 and marriages 1818-1862. This section if indexed, then early members are listed and indexed. If you need further information from the church records, it is preferred that you write and research will be done for you. Foundry United Methodist Church, 1500 16th Street, N.W., Washington DC 20036." Hope this helps.
