Update from one of my guys who is stuck in traffic down there...not much left to the library. I'm not sure what they were able to save but the building itself is still burning. -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Scott, Brenda" <Brenda.Scott@mncppc-mc.org> > The document s are irreplaceable, and I hope no one gets injured as well. > > Fleet Assistant > Fleet Services Shady Grove > 301-670-8090 > brenda.scott@mncppc-mc.org > > > -----Original Message----- > From: washingtondc-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:washingtondc-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of > genealogyldy@comcast.net > Sent: Monday, April 30, 2007 2:09 PM > To: washingtondc@rootsweb.com; washingtondc@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [WashDC] Georgetown Fire > > > I am devastated! We've got classic weather for fires -- warm and windy. This is the type of weather that spreads any sort of spark or fire, whether a dropped cigarette, a small fire to burn trash [I'm old enough to remember those.] or arson. Very alarming and very sad. I used to go to the Georgetown branch of the library when I lived in DC nearly 30 years ago. (This was before I found out how to really "do" genealogy.) I "found" Eastern Market weekend before last at the end of a very long and very exhausting Saturday and was planning to go this coming weekend....
