Does anyone on this list know the address of the OLD Providence Hospital which was located in SE DC? I know the current hospital is on Varnum Street NE. My husband's grandfather died in 1899 in Providence Hospital. The record of his death states that he was a resident of Washington, DC, for 11 days prior to his death residing at 211 I Street SE. Since he was a lifelong resident of Prince George's County, Maryland, I wondered if the I street address was the address of Providence Hospital. I asked on the City Directories list, but everyone that furnished an address (so far) furnished the Varnum St address. I know that Providence Hospital moved to Varnum Street within my lifetime. I also remember occasionally passing the site of the old hospital in Southeast many years ago, when I was driving to or from my job in DC. Barbara
