Elizabeth, I have dealt with Fort Lincoln and I'm afraid they are not very friendly unless you have money in your hands. They are only interested in selling, not genealogists. They will tolerate you long enough to give you information to find ONE and, if you're lucky, two grave sites, but they will definitely not give you access to any of their records nor are they willing to look anything up for you. Maybe I just hit them on a bad day -- let me know if you have a better experience! The person's card I got was the director of administration, Emily S. Hoff (this was several years ago.) Unfortunately Emily Hoff is no longer at Fort Lincoln. Our family was there in December of 2000 for my uncle's burial and the staff was unfriendly and downright rude. My aunt has been having problems with them ever since then, in regards to my uncle's marker, which has still not been placed on his grave. So it's not just genealogists. The staff is just plain uncaring.
