    3. I recently found two of my ancestors buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Bladensburg Rd. I learned from the Cemetery that they were buried from two different Catholic Churches in the Washington area. The two churches are St. Dominic's and St. Peter's. Not being at all familiar with obtaining information in the Wash. DC area, how does one go about getting any information from Catholic Churches? I have written e-mails to both Churches and have not received an answer. Is there a better way to go about finding more family data in the records of those two churches? I would be more than happy to pay persons in the office to search for me. Frank Kuhn Frank Kuhn [email protected] --------------------------------- Yahoo! 3. From "Guide to the Research of Your District of Columbia Ancestors" by Eleanor M. V. Cook: "St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church had a church built in 1821 at the corner of Second and C Streets, S.E., which was torn down in 1889 and replaced with a marble church on the same site. If you will write, giving names and approximate dates, someone at the church will research the records for the information you want. St. Peter's Catholic Church, 313 Second Street, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20003." Each of the descriptions of other Catholic churches mentioned say the same thing....write to the church and someone will research for you. Unfortunately, St. Dominic's is not included in the list. The only mention of St. Dominic's in the entire book is under the information on Mount Olivet Cemetery: "Mount Olivet Cemetery, on Bladensburg Road, N.E., was established in 1858 by the four Catholic parishes of St. Patrick's, St. Peter's, St. Matthew's and St. Dominic's. For information concerning burials at Mount Olivet, it is preferred that you put your inquiries in writing, Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1300 Bladensburg Road, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002. The telephone number is 399-3000." Sue Dotson [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: Frank J.
