    3. Sue Try DC Public Library - if Mr. Fabrizio died in DC you might try the Washingtoniana Room. It will cost you a dollar for the copy - but they are very good about it if you write them a letter and enclose a check for a dollar. If they don't find it they will return your check. 1. [WashDC] German orphanage
    2. I think I'm remembering that several people on this list are interested in the German Orphanage that was established in 1879 in DC. There is an excellent article about the history of the orphanage in the current issue of Washington History (18:1-2, 2006). I don't know whether the Historical Society of Washington has extra copies available for individual sale, but they used to do that. You could contact them at 801 K Street NW, DC 20001 or by phone at 202-373-1850. Jane Donovan

    3. Dear List, Since the subject of orphanages came up, and Maryland, DC, and Virginia are so close, I have a small book that maybe some folks would like a look up from. The title is Apprentices, Poor Children, and Bastards, Loudoun County, VA 1757-1850 by Louisa Skinner Hutchison. I find the concept of a child being called a bastard offensive. We are all equal, beloved, children of a Divine Creator. If you would like a look-up please let me know. 3. Cecile, He was probably born while the family worked there. Wisconsin is some what close to Canada like Washington state; it was a great logging area. If you go to www.usgenweb.com choose Wisconsin, then the county of Waupaca, you may search the web site. I found the William H. and Mary Craven, I mentioned in my last e-mail to you. It says that he was a Carpenter born in Pennsylvania and she was born in Ohio. Now, one more thing. You ask the Washington DC Mailing List about Washington State, Washington DC and Washington State are about 4,000 miles apart being on different coast.. You may want to go to that state's Mailing List. Do you know the name of the city in Washington, where he died. I may know the County and be able to send you in the right direction.
